Talk about Christmas in July...I received an e-mail today with photos of FALL 2011 make-up trends, and I won't hesitate to state it frightens me to have the future planned that far in advance. It begs to ask the question: how much of life around me is predetermined? Where is the look of the present? Fashion ought to be a form of expression. You can certainly infer my mood from the clothes I put on. Fashion ought to be a work of art, it ought to be a hobby and even a passion. I cannot, however, wrap my mind around the idea of fashion as competition, as elitest, and as stressful. How utterly foolish to ostracise others because of patches of fabric.
